What happens when I contact Ethics?

When a concern is raised we will review it and will decide who is best placed to handle it. Usually this will involve directing the matter to an appropriate manager and to HR.

All issues will be dealt with independently. Issues raised to Ethics may be resolved formally or informally.  This may include a disciplinary or grievance investigation. If you have asked to remain anonymous, we will not share your personal details with anyone else, however, you should remember that it may be possible to identify you from the details you have given.

Asda does not tolerate any form of retaliation for raising a concern. If you feel you have been retaliated against for raising an issue, you should report this to Ethics.

What should I report?

The Asda Ethics Helpline provides an anonymous and confidential way of reporting breaches of the law, Asda's policies or Asda's Statement of Ethics.

Before contacting Ethics, you should consider whether a conversation with your people manager, line manager or raising a grievance would be a more appropriate route for your concern.  It is always best to try and resolve a concern locally first.

Asda's Ethics Helpline should only be used in circumstances when you feel unable to report your concerns in the usual way, or where you have reported concerns but they have not been acted upon. However, you should always report concerns about Bribery and Corruption, Human Rights Violations (for example Modern Slavery, Human Trafficking or Sexual Assault), Financial Concerns over £75,000, or Misconduct by a member of Asda's Executive Board (VP and Above) to Asda Ethics.
